Welcome to Streetwise Publishing
There is a new Sheriff in the publishing
territory of urban writings. Presently, our site is
a work in progress. Please be patient with us.
We can hardly wait to share what we have to
offer in the way of information, products and
services. You can count on this site to provide
current information about the world of
publishing in general, and StreetWise
Publishing Co. in particular.
We will be showcasing original works from our
team of writers (articles, short stories, poetry,
and excerpts from novels). You can also look
forward to StreetWise Classics including
works going back to Paul L. Dunbar, Frederick
Douglas, Phyllis Wheatley, The Black
Reconstruction Period, The Harlem
Renaissance -and - last but not least - our
contemporary writers who proudly carry the
torch lit by the same fire found in our writers
from yesteryear.

In Guns We Trust
by Dennis Wise
author of
The Wolf Trap
Get ready for another high calibre,
ruthlessly honest novel from a writer on
path to gain ever increasing rank among
writing heavyweights on the scene today.
Featuring: Honey & Bianca
This is the story of two young African American
girls who become the furthest thing from
erstwhile innocents raised in strict caring
homes. Fate and circumstance quickly
transform our lead characters.
Taking a job as a baby sitter leads to abuse
and manipulation - forced prostitution - drug
dependency - and  ultimately, a survival mode
that features an adopted attitude (see title)
where conscience is completely absent.
Just out of High School the girls find
themselves living as Gangster Molls in the
ruthless and fast paced drug world of New
York. They learn to kill in order to survive. They
learn from the experts.
Both have an incredible will to survive, for
themselves, and to provide for family. Both are
resilient and strong in their individual ways.
Sadly, only one has the true tenacity to endure
to the end.

books imagining what the patron saint of
African-Americans might have to say about the
challenges our kids face today).
Our Intentions
The time is now for those in our
communities to enjoy a serious
minded venue for publishing. Our
guiding purpose is to give answer
to this call. We believe the
so-called Urban Hip-Hop/Hustler
culture, owns a unique and valid
literature in it's language,
message, and rhythmic cadence.
Also, our Brothers and Sisters
confined in prisons across
America now have a launching
base for their writing talents.
Our role at StreetWise is to be a
partner in presenting and
promoting your work to a level of
national and international acclaim.
We say partner - because this will
involve your hard work - as well
as ours - to make this a reality.
We younger Negro
artists...intend to express our
individual dark-skinned self
without fear or shame. If white
people are pleased, we are
glad. If they are not, it doesn't
matter. We know we are
beautiful. And ugly too.
